Pontoon Safety – Bad Weather
The pontoons can become very slippery when wet or icy, wear appropriate footwear and avoid running, take particular care in the dark.
High winds can cause mobility problems and strong gusts can catch you off guard.
Customers are advised not to go onto pontoons in bad weather conditions unless absolutely necessary. Particular care should be taken when negotiating the gangways and getting on or off boats.

Port Marine Safety Code
The aim of the Port Marine Safety Code is that all ports within the UK should within their jurisdiction, apply nationally agreed standards for the safety of marine operations. Following an audit in September 2011, Buckler's Hard Yacht Harbour are pleased to announce that the Beaulieu River received the Certificate of Audit and Confirmation of Compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code. Depth of River at Buckler's Hard
Due to a number of grounding incidents recently, river user’s are reminded that the depth of water in the river on the approaches to Buckler’s Hard is similar to that on the bar at the entrance to Beaulieu River.
Care should be taken when navigating this section of the river at low water springs.
